As a native Californian, I never expected to discover - let alone live in - a place that rivals the beauty of my home state. But not long ago, when my husband, a US Navy Captain and fighter pilot, decided to retire, that's exactly what happened. We left our final duty station in Germany and, with two young sons in tow, moved to the Lowcountry.
My start in real estate, however, goes back to the '80's when my father, a high-tech entrepreneur, decided to invest in the burgeoning California real estate market. One of my earliest memories in real estate was when I was about 11 years old, typing lease agreements on an Olympus electrical typewriter. As I grew and learned, Dad gave me more responsibilities. I continued to assist him (and later collaborated with him) throughout high school and during my college years at UC Berkeley. Shortly after graduating, I became a broker in my own right.
My career was temporarily placed on the back burner when I married my husband, Kelly, who was stationed at the Lemoore Naval Air Station in California's Central Valley. In the blink of an eye, I became a mom and we were off to our first foreign tour in India with our newborn son. During that time, I had the opportunity to live in and visit several countries and meet many fascinating people from different cultures and divergent walks of life. These experiences allowed me to cultivate a sense of perspective and further develop my ability to identify areas that strike the rare balance between economic prosperity and quality of life. If you are interested in moving to Bluffton, Beaufort, Hilton Head Island, or Savannah, allow me to share with you what I believe makes this region extraordinary and why investing here is one of the best decisions that you can make.
When I'm not working, I enjoy time on the water with family and friends, make time to sit down to dinner with Kelly and our two sons, and as always, I jump at the opportunity to expand my horizons through travel and writing. I am proud to be a member of the Celia Dunn Sotheby's International Realty team and hold active brokers' licenses in Georgia, South Carolina, and California.
